HCS SCS SB 592 -- COURT FEES

SPONSOR:  Foster (Kingery)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Local Government by a vote of 13 to 0.

This substitute authorizes court filing fees in Butler, Ripley,
Washington, Madison, Scott, Mississippi, and St. Francois
counties to be used for courtroom renovation and technology
enhancement.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that courthouses need expansion and
remodeling.  These funds are not being used and will help with
the courthouse projects.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Foster; and Southeast
Communities United for Regional Advancement.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
